»| .:: Fans ::. The fans were developed in late 2002 and are unashamedly a touch of the romantic. They are about 800mm wide and the original graphic used were that of traditional and contemporary design images from Japan. (Although it is considered the fan was used in China long before it reached Japan) This year I have moved from the design concept to more stylised image of Japanese and related flora. The kites are appliquéd and then painted, using oil based washes to achieve depth in colour. Click on the images for bigger pictures. |
